Children
of Alcoholics Program
Renz Center offers
a safe and supportive atmosphere for children who are
affected by a caregiver's abuse of alcohol or drugs.
Treatment services include individual and group sessions for children and
adolescents 3–17 years of age. Offsite services
are available at various schools and facilities in the
Fox Valley.
A COA is any child or adult child of an alcoholic or addicted parent or caregiver.
A
parent may be actively using drugs/alcohol or may be
in a treatment or a recovery program. The substance abuser
may or may not be in the home as is the case in separated,
divorced, foster, or adoptive families. It is important
to note that children continue to be affected regardless
of the substance abuser's current involvement in the
family.
