2010 Capital Campaign

Investing in the Community

Addiction touches all of us . . .

Every time I step through Renz Center’s doors I am touched by the fact that, as a board member, I am part of an agency that helps individuals and families rebuild their lives.  Everyone knows someone that has been touched by an alcohol, drug or gambling addiction.  Whether it is a co-worker, friend, or family member, the effects of addiction can be devastating and far reaching.

I am honored to serve as Campaign Chairman for Renz Center’s “Investing in the Future” Campaign.  A valuable community resource, Renz Center provides addiction prevention and treatment for individuals and families, while working to keep communities healthier and safer for everyone.

Substance abuse is a serious social and economic issue that affects us all.  Untreated addiction costs Americans $400 billion every year. News of teenage drinking tragedies, DUIs, and drug related criminal activities are an everyday occurrence. No one can deny the important need for a community treatment center.  Delivering those services, however, is becoming more of a challenge as the number of clients increase.

With Kane County’s population growth more than double the national average of 13%, treatment requests are rising and will continue to push the limits of the current facility.  I invite you to join me in supporting Renz Center as we strive to meet the community’s demand for prevention, early intervention and treatment services for all ages.

Warm Regards,

lauranewman
